Lee Ji-Hoon[7], known as The Best Swordsman is a player in Lucid Adventure. He was the Vice Guild Master of the Zara Guild and is the Guild Master of Grass Roots Guild. After Zara Guild disbanded, he formed the Grass Roots Guild and plans to complete the Absolute Quest to honour Armes memory.

Four years ago, The Best Swordsman was the Rank no.3 under Giga's Ranking System, but became unranked by the time of Season 1.

When Hardcore Leveling Warrior was revealed to still be alive, he alongside some others rushed to Dark Land to aid in the search.

4 years ago, during the early days of Lucid Adventure, The Best Swordsman was the Vice Guild Master of Zara and had the second highest authority in within the guild. During that time, he was ranked the 3rd strongest player by Giga scouts and was one of the strongest players in the game. He was able to defeat the then ranked no.88 Hardcore Leveling Warrior 113 consecutive times without a single loss. He defeated the Vice Guild Master of the Tete Guild, Destroyer and also completely cut apart the Nightmarized Kkakdugi.

After the dissolution of the Zara Guild, The Best Swordsman became the guild master of the Grass Roots Guild and has authority over those within his guild. By the start of Season 1, The Best Swordsman was no longer a ranked player. Despite his fall from the top rankers list, he was still one of the more powerful players in the game.

14 years later, The Best Swordsman is back to being a ranker and is one of the strongest players in the game. He was able to evenly duel Guan Yu and may be more powerful than him. Pre-timeskip he was overwhelmed by his Nightmare Doppelganger, but by the second season he was able to easily defeat his nightmare counterpart while his compatriots struggled with theirs. Nightmare Choco Bibi confirmed that The Best Swordsman was stronger than himself, Nightmare The Best Swordsman, Nightmare Tempest and Nightmare Drip Soup combined. It was confirmed that The Best Swordsman had completed his 5th Job Advancement and became a 'Master Swordsman'.

Personal Attribute

The Best Swordsman's personal attribute has not been revealed as of yet but has been confirmed to be a Person Type.[1]

True Awakening 50%

The Best Swordsman puts on his helmet and Sea Dragon Sword opens 2 out of it's 3 eyes, which opens his 'true' Personal Attribute at 50%. In this form, The Best Swordsman is surrounded by a transparent fiery blue light armour in his shoulders and upper thighs.[8]

In this form, it seems like his strength, attack power and swordsmanship are greatly enhanced. The Best Swordsman believed Guan Yu was reckless for challenging him when he was in this form.[9]

Enhanced Attack Power: The Best Swordsman is able to duel with the powerful player Guan Yu and not be at a disadvantage.[9]

Enhanced Swordsmanship: In this form, The Best Swordsman is able to use the powerful sword skill, Lacerate (切).[9]

Lucid Adventure Arc

The Best Swordsman alongside a few members of the |Grass Roots Guild are telepored to Dark Land and he walks into Quest House eager to help find Hardcore Leveling Warrior.[10] He is surprised by the amount of people that were prsent to form the alliance with Dark Land. Dark tells The Best Swordsman that he fought Nightmare The Best Swordsman which elicitis a scoff from The Best Swordsman . He then greets Sora and is surprised that her Ego Sword can walk and talk. He listens to Heart Heater's briefing on Karma how to find Hardcore Leveling Warrior's Karma pieces and deduces that they have to find them before their enemies do. Dark then tells everyone to get a move on so they can find Hardcore Leveling Warrior.[11]

Alongside the rest of the Grass Roots Guild, Choco Bibi teleported The Best Swordsman to Dark Land. They are greeted by Heart Heater.[1]

Translation Issues

'지존검사' is translated as 'Master Swordsman' by Line Webtoon. While this is not strictly incorrect, this wiki will be referring to the character as 'The Best Swordsman'. The reasons for this are in the proceeding paragraphs.

'지존' (至尊, Jijon) means “the best”, but it's out dated. In South Korea, it was used in the 2000s as one of another words of 'Gosu ("the best" or "highly skilled person") among online game users, and the people gave their game characters the name Jijon XX (warrior, archer, and sorcerer etc). So his nickname is Jijon Swordsman. After the 2010s, the frequency of that word use withered, and entering it into the character's name became a clumsy naming so it becomes a meme.'검사' simply means 'Swordsman'.

Therefore, a more accurate translation would be "The Best Swordsman". 'Master' in Korean is '마스터' as in 'Sword Master' (소드마스터) and 'Master Blacksmith' ( 마스터 대장장이).

In fact, Hatigarm Scans translated '지존검사' as 'Awesome Gamer'.

Notes & Trivia

  • The characters may have been inspired by a South Korean gaming meme. In the the online gaming community, people named their characters 'The Best XXX'. For example 'The Best Archer' or 'The Best Warlock'. After the 2010s, the frequency of that word use withered, and entering it into the character's name became a clumsy naming so it becomes a meme.
  • Kim Sehoon revealed the following information about The Best Swordsman in a twitter post[7]:
    • His real name was is '이지훈' (translation: Lee Ji-hoon).
    • 전직전기설비기사 루어벤 때문에지금은 관둠(백수) (translation: Luerben, a former electric equipment company has stopped him no (unemployed))
  • The Best Swordsman's issues with woman have been used as comic relief on the show. In Episode 94, a thread titled "where are the female guilds? I want a girlfriend" could be seen on dcinside.com's on Lucid Gallery.
  • During Dark's fight with Nightmare The Best Swordsman , it is implied by Dark that he fought The Best Swordsman during the two year time-skip, claiming that The Best Swordsman put up more of a fight than his Nightmare Counterpart.[12]
  • The Best Swordsman is currently the 3rd known active 'Master' in the series. The other two are Light and Hephai who are Master Wizard and Master Blacksmiths respectively.
  • The Best Swordsman 's personal attribute has yet to be revealed, but fans have speculated that it is Admiral Yi Sun-sin. This is due to his water affinity attacks. His admiral attire further confirmed fans suspicions.
    • The Best Swordsman spoke about his own Conceptual Magic in Season 1 and fans have speculated that it is Yi Sun-Sin's Turtle Ship, which is similar to how Armes creates Christopher Colombus' Santa Maria.
    • Some fans have speculated that it is it is Won Gyun or Eulji Mundeok
