Trading Card Game, often abbreviated as TCG, is the Class Type personal attribute of Yopy.

Overview[]

It is the double class personal attribute that Yopy received after he reached level 40. TCG is an ability that can handle everything that exists in Lucid Adventure in the form of cards. In order to become stronger, Yopy needed to get as many cards as possible.[1]

He has two ways of earning cards. The first way is by levelling up. When he levelled up, Yopy got an exclusive card pack that depended on his level. Each card pack contained a total of 10 cards, each of them being random. Most of the cards were weak cards of the normal grade, so Yopy worked focussed on levelling up and collected strong cards one after another. A strength of TCG was also in trading. He could trade abilities that he made into cards.[1]

The second way is to get special cards from other players. With the consent of the other party, through an exchange, the other party's skills or existence itself could be converted into a card.[1]

Once a battle begins, Yopy can use 30 cards that he prepared beforehand.[1] The things is he can't just use any card that he wants but he has to draw one that's place on the very top of the stack.[1] He can only draw a card after he has been attacked.[1]

With this TCG class, Yopy can create, shape and manipulate Trading Card Game (TCG) cards, intuitively drawing the right card for the needed situation, and control the TCG-cards and beings/tools that can be summoned using them. He can use the cards to achieve real-world effects in accordance with the capabilities depicted on each card. Yopy can also design his own custom-made TCG decks and utilize those cards accordingly.

Card Empowerment: Depending on the card used Yopy can become stronger, faster, more durable, etc. when he is near cards, possibly unlocking abilities related to the affinity and enhancing the existing powers.

Card Teleportation: Yopy can teleport via cards thanks to borrowing this power from Choco Bibi.[2]

Card Transmutation: Yopy can transform matter and objects, including living beings, into cards.[1]

Card Combination: Depending on the cards, Yopy can combine the effect of two cards. This could be seen when Yopy combined the Soft-Textured Sword card with his Mass Proliferation card to create a Soft-Textured Chimera.[1]

Summoning: Yopy is able to summon items or monsters and/or casting spells from the TCG-cards.

  • Skills: Yopy is able to use skills and spells from his cards that he got through either defeating a boss, levelling up or exchanging with other characters
  • Items: Yopy is able to equip items from cards he got through either defeating a boss, levelling up or exchanging with other characters
  • Entities: Yopy is able to use his cards to summon entities from cards he got through either defeating a boss, levelling up or exchanging with other characters.

Item Storage: Yopy is able to store items in his cards that can be brought out at a later date. He stored The Dead Body of A Forest Witch in his card.[3]

Pet Storage: Yopy is able to link his cards with his Tamer Class and it seems like he can store his pets in his cards such as the Flying Dolphin.[4] This is under the assumption that the summoned dolphin is not from his TCG class but from his tamer class. This will be changed when more information is revealed in the webtoon.

Power Containment: Yopy's cards have the ability to hold the power of even the Absolute God, Han Gun-Jae. Han Gun-Jae said that only Yopy was capable of carrying out the mission of dealing with Zero and this was due to the TCG's ability.[1] Han Gun-Jae put his blow that could killl the gods into Yopy's card.[1]

TCG Terminology[]

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Yopy's class was officially revealed in Season 2 Episode 81
  • The personal attribute has the motif of TCG, which is a type of card game that mixes strategic deck building elements with features of trading cards, introduced with Magic: The Gathering in 1993. Popular TCGs include Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon . Hearthstone is a popular CCG but strictly speaking, it is not a "Trading Card Game" as there is no trading of skills between players.
  • Yopy's personal attribute has elements also found in the Munchkin card game.
  • In Episode 23, Heart Heater said that Hola helped Yopy unlock his personal attribute.
  • Due to TCG's trading ability, which let Yopy trade abilities into cards, Yopy was able to secure enough gold to build his own nation.[1]
  • Although TCG's ability is great, the main reason Yopy is so strong is because of his knowledge of the Game. His level of understanding the game is even greater than that of Hardcore Leveling Warrior.[1]
  • This the 3rd 'Game Type' ability (게임형 능력)[1] seen in the series. The first two are Hungry Ghost's Hwatu and Ham's Rule - Chess.
