Majins are an Ancient Race in Lucid Adventure
Overview[]
They are an Ancient Race that disappeared a long time ago in Lucid Adventure. Unlike the saying "The Magic belongs to Dragons", The Majins were magic themselves. They were an ancient race made of mana.[1]
Abilities[]
As shown by Light, Majins were almost transcendent-like existences that were capable of instantly casting multiple destructive magic spells in quick succession without the needs for any incantations and no casting time. Their power was based on the ability to read mana and magic like writings.[1]
The existence of the magic swords such as Dolce indicate that they were also proficient swordsmanship and could combine it with their powerful magic to create a magic swordsmanship style.
Traits[]
- Non-Incantation - They could cast magic spells as soon as they thought of them in their heads, and the power of each Magic spells was 'destruction' itself.[1]
Known Majins[]
- Light via Majinization
Known Majin Items[]
6 Swords of the Majin[]
The Majin are known to have 6 swords.[2]
Translation Issues[]
'마인' (romaja: main) is translated by Line Webtoon as Demon.[2][1] This should not be confused with the 'Demon' tribe that includes the likes of Le. Rajie and Ligos. '마인' in Korean dictionaries is strictly translated as 'Mine' (As in Land-mine and mines in caves). The translation of '마인'used in this series is not found in Korean Dictionaries as there is no direct hangul translation for it. '마인' will be translated as 'Majin' in this wiki and this will be explained in detail below.
'마' (romaja: ma) is the Korean form of the Chinese word, '魔' (Pinyin: mó) . '魔' literally translates to '(Buddhism) mara (demon)', 'devil; demon; evil spirit', 'fiend; harmful or evil thing or person' or 'magic; the unnatural or supernatural'. 'ま' (romaji: ma) is the Japanese form of '魔'. 'ま' also means 'demon, devil, evil spirit, evil influence'.
'인' (romaja: in) is the Korean form of the Chinese word '人' (pinyin: rén). '人' means 'man; person; people'; 'human being'. In Japanese, '人' also means 'mankind'.
In the case of this series, '마인' are made of mana, they are beings made up of pure magic. Based on all the translations given above, 'Magic' rather than 'Demon' should be used.
'마인' is the Korean hangul form of the Chinese word '魔人' (Pinyin: mórén, hiragana: まじん, rōmaji: majin). '魔人' is called 'Moren' in Chinese, 'Majin' in Japanese and 'Mine' in Korean. Due to 'Majin' being more popular in manga/anime circles, Majin will be used for this wiki rather than 'Moren' or 'Mine'. Either one can be used with no problem.
'Majin' is a person who has some supernatural power or ability and can literally be translated as 'magician; sorcerer; conjurer'. While '인' means 'human' or 'man' (not as in male but in "man"kind), '마' can mean 'demonic' or something 'supernatural' or 'magical'. In the case of the Hardcore Leveling Warrior series, it can likely be translated as 'Magical Person' or 'Magical being' as Majins are people composed of pure magic.
- In the group of fantasy works, Majins are humanoid characters with both devil and human characteristics. A person who has become wicked and has superhuman powers by dealing with a certain evil being is called a 'Majin', and a new humanoid creature created by 'evil' itself is called 'Majin', which is described in various works. Villains that do not have supernatural features but do evil are also called 'Majin'. It is a similar, but slightly different concept to the devil. Devils may not be humanoids, but Majins generally have arms and legs, that is, they resemble humans or look exactly like humans. Majins are sometimes called Wizards/Magicians.
The word 'Majin' was mainly introduced into popular lexicon through the popular Dragonball character, Majin Buu. The difficulty with translating '魔人' can be found in this post in a Dragonball forum. Another good post on the different translations of 'Majin' can bee seen here.
