Ham is a player in Lucid Adventure. She is a member of the Giga Empire and is currently Ranked No.2 under the Lucid Ball Ranking System. Her power led to her being hailed as the Strongest Weapon of Giga.

Ham accepted Giga's invitation on the condition that she was not annoyed in anyway. She won a 3 vs 1 against Giga's Rankers alone in a scout test so Giga is currying favour with her.

During The Great War, she is seen subjugating Nightmare independently. She killed Nightmare Bamboo Spear Man and Nightmare Oz.

Responding to Kongming's emergency call, Ham joined the battle between the players and the Demon King's Army near Charming Castle. Using the players as her chess pieces, she temporarily gained the upper hand against the Demon King Ge Des but was eventually defeated.

 Appearance

Ham is a young pale girl with purplish brown hair and magenta eyes. She wears a large black wizard hat adorned with numerous circle objects. She wears a translucent jacket, purple crop top, light blue pants and brown slippers. She has animal like ears on either side of her head.

Personality

As the Rank No.2 Player in Lucid Adventure, Ham is extremely confident in her abilities. Her confidence seems to have been with her for a while as she told Giga that she would only join them under the condition that she was not "offended" in any way.

She loves sweets and can even be seen licking a lollipop during her battle with Ge Des. and throws a strop when they are not up to her standard as seen when she chastised Section Chief Song. She also loves her tea time and gets angry when it is interrupted.

In combat situations, Ham is usually extremely calm and shows no anxiety which allows her to fight efficiently. She showed no fear when she faced Nightmare Bamboo Spear Man and Nightmare Oz. Even when she was surrounded by multiple demons she remained calm and composed. Her confidence stems from the fact that the rules of her chess ability are complicated. This overconfidence in her abilities led to her underestimating the Demon King Ge Des and she lost her composure and made mistakes after Ge Des started reading her moves, which ultimately led to her defeat.

Ham is extremely determined as even after being defeated by Ge Des, she still wanted to blow herself up to at least give him an injury.

Relationships

Giga

Ham joined Giga under the condition that no one offend her in any way. Because of her power, Giga is currently currying favour with her. She is referred to as "Ham-nim" by Giga soldiers out of respect. The Giga Soldiers could only watch as Ham chastised Section Chief Song in front of them. Despite her fussy attitude, she is at least content at Giga as she was quick to reject Sun Wukong's offer to join Elixir Plant. She also believes that Giga rankers are reliable. She protected the 11 surviving Giga soldiers from the after effects of Ge Des and Stone's battle before they were all rescued by Giga's Teleportation Rescue Team.

Section Chief Song

Despite being an elite in his group, Section Chief Song respectfully called Ham 'Ranker Ham-nim' and was assigned to serve Ham directly. Ham chastised him and had a strop because Section Chief Song served her what she considered bad sweets.

Kongming

Ham respects Kongming as she calls him Kongming-nim. She responded to his call to join the battle against Ge Des. She entrusted him to take care of the situation after she was defeated by Ge Des. She reluctantly measured Stone's Combat Power at Kongming's request while she was struggling to protect hersefl and the Giga soldiers from the after effects of the fierce battle between Stone and Ge Des. Kongming managed to rescue her with the Teleportation Rescue Team and declared a state of emergency after seeing her terrified.

Stone

They have not been shown to have any direct relationship but Stone stopped Ham from blowing up herself by knocking her out and fighting Ge Des in her stead. When Ham awoke, she was in awe of the power Stone was displaying during his battle with Ge Des.

Ge Des

Ham answered Kongming's call to protect Charming Castle from the Demon King's Army. She saved the high rankers from Ge Des's fatal blow and fought him using her conceptual magic. Ham was confident of defeating him because she believed that he could not figure out the rules to her chess game. After Ge Des figured it out and read all her moves, the defeated Ham tried blowing her self up to take at least his arm off which Ge Des thought was pointless. Ge Des was impressed with Ham abd said that she "fought well".

Ham was shocked at the battle between Stone and Ge Des before and had never seen a battle like that. After being teleported to Lion Heart Castle, Ham was shivering and was terrified from the power Ge Des displayed and mumbled that there was no way they could beat such a "monster".

The full extent of Ham's power has not been revealed but she is undoubtedly powerful. As the current Rank No.2 Player, she is the 2nd strongest player in Lucid Adventure.

A hint of a power is can be seen in the fact that she is one of the few Rankers subjugating Nightmare independently and not with a team. The only other Ranker subjugating Nightmare on their own is Stone, the current Rank No.1 Player.

She has the overall highest Combat Power in Giga, higher than powerful Giga players like Xiang Yu and Light. During Giga's scout test, she defeated 3 of Giga's Rankers alone which led even the mighty Giga to curry favour with her. At the time of the test, she wasn't at the max level but now she is at the max level and has items co-ordinated by Giga which has led her being dubbed "The Strongest Weapon of Giga".

A glimpse of Ham's power was seen when she easily killed Nightmare Bamboo Spear Man and Nightmare Oz & Goldy easily without even suffering a scratch..

She joined the battle between the high rankers and the Ge Des and was able to gain the advantage over the powerful Demon King Ge Des for some time before he managed to figure out the rules to her chess conceptual magic.

Barrier Creation: Ham is able to create a powerful magic barrier to block attacks. The barrier was strong enough to block Ge Des's powerful magic attack although it should be noted that Ge Des's power was reduced by the effect of Ham's chess personal attribute. She created a barrier strong enough to protect her and the 11 surviving Giga soldiers from the after effects of Ge Des's and Stone's fierce battle; the shockwave from the battle caused Charming Castle to begin collapsing.

Self Detonation: Ham can cause herself to self destruct and explode, of which the magnitude is unknown. She believed that it could at least destroy Royal Horn Ge Des's arms. The skill was never seen as Ham was knocked out by Stone.

Tactical Skills: Fitting with the motif of a chess player, Ham displayed great tactical intelligence as she commanded her player chess pieces, which earned her praise from both Zhao Yun and Gangrim.

Rule - Chess is the Conceptual Magic of Ham based on the strategic board game, Chess. It is a passive skill that is activated in a battle. As long as Ham does not lose in the chess game, she does not get any damage.

The opponents become a part of Ham's chess game as soon as a battle is started. Just like chess, Ham waits for her turn to attack after her opponents attacks.

Ham's chess ability has a complicated mechanism. In a battle, foes and allies fight equally as chess pieces. A chess game ends when the King is captured but according to this rule, there is no one particular king. All soldiers are like kings.

Unfortunately or Ham, if her opponent figures this rule out, she can be defeated in her own game as seen when Ge Des immediately grasped the rules of the game and defeated Ham fairly quickly.

Rule Creation: Ham can create physical laws to bend others to the boundaries of the rule. When the rules have been set then the victims have no chance of escaping them. Unless the victims abide to the rules, it's hopeless for them.

Nigh Invulnerability: Ham takes no damage as long as she does not lose the Chess Game. Nightmare Bamboo Spear Man's Nightmare Bamboo Spear did not leave a single scratch on Ham's forehead.

Summoning : Ham is able to summon entities based on the chess pieces. Each chess summon has a unique way of attacking. Ham shouts out the chess piece's name and commands them to attack.

Invitation: Ham can invite other players to be her chess pieces and take the place of her summons. Ham acts as the "command tower" and directs the players moves.

• Invulnerability Extension: This invulnerability of Ham's conceptual magic extends to the player's she invites at the start of the game as Ge Des's Demon King's Sword Strike bounced off the rankers immediately they accepted being her chess pieces. This only applies at the start of the game and the players can get damaged once the game of chess begins.

Power Matching: As a result of the skills, Ham's opponents power is the same as her own. Demon King Ge Des's power was reduced to a level that attacks that would normally not harm him were damaging him once he was trapped in Ham's conceptual magic. It is due to this that Ham is able to block Ge Des magic attack with her shield.

Modes: Chess, Ham's Personal Attribute, appears to have different modes depending on whether she uses her own chess pieces or if she uses players as chess pieces. In both modes, all foes and allies fight equally as chess pieces and the chess game ends only when the King is captured/defeated. _{Theses modes are not explicitly stated in the webtoon by the author but based on what was shown, there appears to be a distinction when NPCs are used and when players are used}

• Chess Piece Mode: In this mode, Ham summons and uses her own chess pieces. The environment around her and her opponent changes and enters into Ham's conceptual magic, a chess board of black and white. Each person takes a turn to attack. _{The rule(s) of this mode has not been explicitly stated but it can be assumed that it operates the same way Chess would work where there is only one 'King'.}
• Player Summons Mode: In this mode, Ham uses players as her chess pieces and the environment around her and her opponent doesn't convert to that of a chess board which was Ham's conceptual magic. There appears to be no one particular king in this mode and all soldiers are like 'kings'. Ham is still the control tower in this mode and the game ends only when she is defeated.

Combat Style

Based on what we have seen, Ham fights using her personal attribute, Rule - Chess, which is activated immediately she enters a battle situation. She uses her summons to attack her opponents. In team fights, Ham will invite other players to become her chess pieces rather than summon her pieces.

• Chess Summons: Ham summons entities based on the chess board game pieces.
  • Bishop: A summon that is dressed similar to a nun and can use non-incantation magic.
    • Holy Explosion: Bishop launches a giant black sphere with a white cross at the target that explodes upon impact. It is an advanced magic.
  • Pawn: A summon that is equipped with a sword and a shield.
  • Rook: A giant armoured summon that wields a giant sword.

History

Background

Ham was scouted by Giga and accepted it under the condition that no one should offend her in any way. She defeated 3 Giga Rankers alone during her scouting test which led Giga to curry favour with her. She was not at the max level at the time of the test.

Season 2

Beyond the Boundary Arc

Ham's silhouette during The Great War

Ham was standing on hill, looking to subjugate Nightmare independently. Sitting underneath a parasol while being guarded by Giga Soldiers, Ham tasted the sweets prepared for her by Giga's Section Chief Song. She calls Section Chief Song and chastises him for giving her such bad treats as she threw the plats at him. Section Chief Song tries to explain that the Cake Master was injured from a Nightmare Attack. Ham refuses to hear a word of it and demands better treats as Section Chief Song kowtows to her and tells her that he will find another Cake Master to teleprt to her immediately.

Ham not too pleased with the food...

Ham's camp is attacked by Nightmare Oz's Dark Boom Boom Cannonball and are unharmed. As the Giga Soldiers are about to retaliate, Ham tells them to stand back and she engages the Nightmare Players. Under Ham's command, Bishop launches a Holy Explosion at Nightmare Bamboo Spear Man and Nightmare Oz, but the skill is avoided.

Ham and Bishop

Nightmare Bamboo Spear Man uses Nightmare Bamboo Spear in an attempt to pierce Ham's forehead but Ham doesn't even suffer a single scratch. Ham commands a Pawn to attack and the Pawn successfully stabs Nightmare Bamboo Spear Man through the solar-plexus before he is killed by Nightmare Oz's Nightmare Flame.Ham explains to the Nightmare pair that her Rule - Chess was activated immediately when the battle started and informs them that she will take no damage as long as she does not lose the chess game. Ham commands the Rook to attack Nightmare Oz and the Rook obeys and slashes Oz. There is a world notification saying that Ham killed Nightmare Oz and Nightmare Bamboo Spear Man.

Advent of the Demon King Arc

Ham confidently arrives to the battlefield, inviting the present Rankers to become her chess pieces against Ge Des and blocking a powerful slash from him at the same time with the activation of he chess skill. Ham commands Zhao Yun and Gangrim to attack and Ge Des. Ge Des responds and commands demons to attack Ham but they are all defeated by Halloween Girl who is acting as Ham's pawn.

Ge Des launches a powerful magic attack on Sun Wukong but it is blocked by Ham's shield. Sun Wukong eagerly tries to recruit Ham for the Elixir Plant but Ham promptly turns him down.Ge Des kills Zhao Yun and Gangrim which leaves Ham rattled and causes her to make mistakes. One by one all of Ham's chess pieces are defeated and she is the only one left. The dejected Ham drops to her knees as Ge Des approaches her. Ham tells Kongming that Charming Castle has been lost and is abut to self detonate to at least take out Ge Des's arm but she is knocked out by Stone.

Ham wakes up to Zhuge Kongming asking what was going on. Ham watches the battle between Ge Des and Stone in awe and remarks she had never seen a battle at that level before. Ha creates a magic barrier to protect the 11 surviving Giga soldiers from the after effects of Ge Des and Stone's battle that was causing the very earth to shake.

Ham reports to Kongming about the battle and reluctantly measures Stone's Combat Power at the request of Zhuge Kongming. Just as Ge Des unleashed the Sword of Darkness that destroyed Charming Castle, Ham and the 11 surviving Giga soldiers were teleported to Lion Heart Castle by the Teleportation Rescue Team. The bruised and battered Ham shivered constantly and mumbled to herself that there was no way they could defeat Ge Des.

Notes & Trivia

• There seems to be a bit of confusion about Ham's level in the series. One of the Giga employees said Ham is at the Max Level (만렙). This means she is at 'Level 99' which is the max level in the game and not an All-Stat.
• Curiously, her name, Ham, is always written in English in the original version and is never written in Korean.
• According to one of the Giga soldiers present, Ham the highest Combat Power (Battle Power) in Giga. This is mistranslated in Season 2 Episode 60 as Battle Stats by LINE Webtoon.
• Fans mistook Ham for Oz, but they are completely different characters.
